Short description of the position
The Project Manager ensures execution of drug development activities across multiple programs. Reporting to the Senior Director, Program Management, this individual will manage detailed timelines, coordinate cross-functional activities, and ensure that project deliverables remain on track. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the drug development process and a passion for driving projects forward in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Main responsibilities of the role
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and trackers across preclinical and early clinical programs.
Drive meeting preparation, facilitate cross-functional team discussions, and ensure follow-up on key
actions and decisions.
Monitor and communicate project progress, risks, and milestones to program leads, functional leads, and the program manager.
Support cross-functional coordination across preclinical, CMC, regulatory, QA, and clinical operations.
Track and manage project documentation including timelines, budgets, Gantt charts, and decision logs.
Assist in the planning and execution of regulatory submissions and enabling work packages.
Support vendor and CRO coordination in collaboration with functional teams.
Contribute to project reporting, dashboards, and presentations for internal governance and management meetings.
Identify and help resolve bottlenecks or issues impacting timeline or deliverables.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field required (e.g., biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical
sciences, engineering).
Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or equivalent) is a plus, especially with a focus on project management or life sciences.
Certifications like: PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum Certifications are a
strong plus.
4–6 years of project management experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment, ideally in early stage drug development.
Demonstrated track record managing cross-functional projects involving R&D, CMC, IND-enabling studies, regulatory submissions, or early clinical trials.
Experience coordinating with external partners such as CROs and vendors.
Proficiency in project planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
Strong organizational and documentation skills, including management of timelines, Gantt charts,
decision logs, and project trackers.
Comfortable contributing to dashboards, reports, and governance presentations.
