Short description of the Department
The Research Department forms the foundation of the VectorY proprietary and partnered programs and, together with the Vector Development department, works towards the development of vectorized antibody treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. We develop and test new therapeutic candidates in different in vitro and in vivo pre-clinical settings and models, to select and advance the therapeutic candidate towards the clinical translation.
Main responsibilities of the role
Own, manage and coordinate research projects to develop in vitro models of neurodegenerative disorders and test therapeutic candidates.
Own, design and conduct experiments in collaboration with technicians.
Work in cross-functional teams, collaborating with other scientists within the different VectorY’s departments.
Performs line managerial duties for Technicians.
Document the work in study plans and reports.
Secure data-management, processing of the results and presentation to key stakeholders.
Establish and maintain communication and collaborations with third parties, such as CROs or academic institutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
A PhD in Neuroscience, Molecular Biologyor similar discipline.
In-depth knowledge of CNS biology (and molecular biology) and related pathologies, especially deurodegenerative disorders (e.g. ALS, FTD, etc.) is essential.
Broad technical expertise (e.g. molecular biology techniques and/or data analysis).
Experience with in-vitro cell culture (e.g. iPSC) is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to effectively design, lead and execute research projects.
Able to work independently and driven for timely completion of goals.
Strong problem solving skills.
Strong ability to collaborate with colleagues productively in a fast-paced environment.
Written and spoken fluency in English.
