Short description of the position
The Assay Development department is responsible for the development and execution of assays for AAV characterization. The group utilizes molecular and cell biology toolboxes to analyze AAV vectors and sets up assays for virus characterization. Also, the Assay Development department supports other departments by testing of samples generated by other teams within VectorY. These assays are often intrinsically complex including molecular, analytical and cell-based assays, each having their focus and technical specialty. The Assay Development department is also responsible for Assay Qualification and Validation as well as Assay Transfer to external partners, as well as for outsourcing samples testing at CROs.
Main responsibilities of the role
In the role of Lab Technician, you are primarily involved in experimental design, execution of practical lab work, data analysis and reporting.
Lab work consists of planning, execution, and/or reviewing of molecular, analytical and/or cell based assays, including high standards in documentation, lab management and laboratory techniques.
Together with the Scientist Assay Development, the Technician plans and executes experimental work to develop assays.
Performs assay execution according to SOP for assay requests from other VectorY departments.
Recognizes day-to-day problems and finds solutions based on standard (and novel) procedures.
Communicates the daily work and results obtained to the Scientist Assay Development
Skills and Qualifications:
Preferably 2 years hands-on experience in DNA/RNA isolation, qPCR, dPCR, ELISA, protein assays, and cell-based assays.
Experience in molecular biology, cell culture and assay design.
Familiarity with quality systems and LIMS is advantageous.
