Technician Assay Development
Work for an Organization that brings innovative therapies to patients worldwide.
VectorY combines the potential of antibodies and gene therapy to develop long-lasting therapeutic solutions for neurodegenerative diseases, including ALS, Huntington’s, and Parkinson’s disease.
Founded in August 2020, and based in the Amsterdam Science Park, VectorY is a fully integrated gene therapy company focused on the development of innovative therapeutics. With R&D facilities in Amsterdam, VectorY develops proprietary & partnered programs based on its novel AAV-based vectorized antibody gene therapy platform.
Short description of the Assay Development department
The Assay Development Department is responsible for the development and execution of assays for Baculovirus and AAV characterization. The group utilizes the molecular toolbox to analyze AAV and Baculoviral vectors with novel characteristics and sets up assays for purity testing in support of process development. These Assays are often intrinsically complex including molecular, analytical and cell-based assays, each having their focus and technical speciality. The Assay Development team is also responsible for Assay Qualification and Validation as well as Assay transfer to QC teams or external partners.
Main responsibilities of the role:
In the role of Technician, you are involved in experimental design, execution of practical lab work, data analysis and reporting.
Lab work consists of setting up and/or execution of molecular, analytical and/or cell based assays, including high standards in documentation, lab management and laboratory techniques.
Together with the Scientist Assay Development, the Technician plans and executes experimental work to develop assays and performs assay execution for assay requests from other VectorY departments (PD, VD, Research).
Recognizes day to day problems and finds solutions based on standard (and novel) procedures.
Communicates the daily work and results obtained to the Scientist Assay Development.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in assay design & characterization, preferably with assays such as qPCR, dPCR, ELISA, protein assays, cell based assays and sequencing.
Experience in molecular biology, cell culture and assay set up.
Familiarity with quality systems and LIMS is advantageous.
Your Natural Strengths and Drivers
You are thorough and have an eye for detail. You deliver highly precise work and work consistently and in a steady pace.
