VectorY combines the therapeutic potential of antibodies combined with AAV based delivery to develop long-lasting therapeutic solutions for neurodegenerative diseases of high unmet medical need. Short description of the Discovery department
The Discovery Team operates within the Research Department, collaborating closely with both the Antibody Discovery Group and the Translational Group to underpin VectorY’s pipelines. Our responsibilities include designing and assessing innovative therapeutic candidates using a range of in vitro preclinical models, with
the goal of identifying and progressing promising agents toward clinical development.
Main responsibilities of the role:
Participate in different research projects involving human iPSC models to
model neurodegenerative disorders and study in vitro efficacy of vectorized
antibody treatments
Plan and execute practical lab work, performs data analysis and reporting
Report to scientist, including communication of daily work and results
Write and follow SOPs and document experimental work in an Electronic Lab
Notebook (ELN).
Participate in compiling study plans and study reports
Partake in lab operational tasks
Recognize day to day problems and accepts solutions based on standard
(and novel) procedures.
Present performed experimental design & results in departmental meetings.
Skills and Qualifications:
HLO/HBO/BSc or MSc (no PhD).
Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in the biomedical field.
Demonstrated experience with standard laboratory and molecular biology.
techniques (e.g. PCR, western blot, cell culture, imaging).
You have proven experience with mammalian cell culture work and are
proficient in sterile working techniques.
Experience with primary and/or iPSC-derived neurons is a huge plus.
Hands-on mentality and are excited to learn new laboratory techniques.
Organised and have a structured way of working.
Strong ability to collaborate with colleagues productively in a fast-paced
environment.
Analytical, accurate and solution-oriented mindset.
Written and spoken fluency in English.
Living in Amsterdam or close to Amsterdam is a preference.
