Short description of the department
The Research Department forms the foundation of the VectorY proprietary and partnered programs and, together with the Vector Development department, works towards the development of vectorized antibody treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. We develop and test new therapeutic candidates in different in vitro and in vivo pre-clinical settings and models, to select and advance the therapeutic candidate towards the clinical translation.
Main responsibilities:
Participate in different research projects involving human iPSC models to model neurodegenerative disorders and study in vitro efficacy of vectorized antibody treatments.
Plan and execute practical lab work, performs data analysis and reporting ü Report to scientist, including communication of daily work and results.
Write and follow SOPs and document experimental work in an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
Participate in compiling study plans and study reports ü Partake in lab operational tasks Technician Gene Therapy.
Recognize day to day problems and accepts solutions based on standard (and novel) procedures.
Present performed experimental design & results in departmental meetings.
Skills and Qualifications:
HLO/HBO/BSc or MSc ü Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in the biomedical field.
Demonstrated experience with culture of primary and/or iPSC-derived neurons.
Experience in molecular biology techniques, e.g. qPCR, WB, microscopy.
Strong ability to collaborate with colleagues productively in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical, accurate and solution-oriented mindset.
Organizational skills with ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
Written and spoken fluency in English..
